CAIER expert Viktoria Krylova, Head of the Research Department, participated in the “Strengthening IPBES through Capacity Building in Central Asia” (“Strengthening the Capacity of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Central Asia”), aimed at developing the capacity of Central Asian countries in the field of biodiversity, which took place in Almaty from March 4 to 6, 2026
The workshop focused on strengthening the link between science and policy and expanding the use of IPBES assessments in decision-making at the national and regional levels.
The event was organized by the Institute for Biodiversity Network (ibn, Germany) with support from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (AAP) and implemented under the coordination of BfN and UBA.
Such initiatives play an important role in promoting science-based decisions and advancing sustainable biodiversity management in the region
