Aselle Tasmagambetova Presented Central Asia at the Global Water Summit in Madrid

Aselle Tasmagambetova, environmentalist and founder of CAIER, moderated the Kazakhstan Spotlight session at the Global Water Summit held in Madrid.

For the first time, Kazakhstan and Central Asia were presented at one of the world’s leading international water industry platforms in such a comprehensive and high-level format. The discussion focused on water security, climate resilience, and infrastructure modernization across the region.

The session brought together representatives of international financial institutions, global water sector companies, sustainability experts, and representatives of the Kazakhstan Center for Modernization and Development of Housing and Communal Services. Participants included European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Agence Française de Développement, Green Climate Fund, Metito, and SUEZ.

According to Aselle Tasmagambetova, the international dialogue around Central Asia is entering a new stage — one focused not only on existing challenges, but also on concrete solutions, strategic partnerships, and long-term projects capable of strengthening the region’s water resilience for decades ahead.
