On October 8, 2024, the Central Asian Institute for Environmental research (CAIER) held a training “Workshop on assessing the carbon footprint of credit and investment portfolios of financial institutions”. The event gathered representatives of banks, microfinance and insurance organizations, who learned about the methodology for calculating financed emissions under the PCAF standard and international practices in this area.
The training was conducted by Lyazzat Kaybaldieva, Senior ESG Expert, and Erkebulan Kazhdarov, ESG Specialist. The participants also had an opportunity to consolidate their knowledge by solving practical exercises on estimating financed emissions.
The event was held within the framework of implementation of the ARRF Roadmap for raising awareness of financial organizations in the field of ESG and sustainable development.
