CAIER conducted training on ESG basics for KMF Bank management

On October 10, 2025, the Central Asian Institute for Environmental Research (CAIER) held a training session on “ESG Fundamentals” for KMF Bank's management. The educational program was developed by CAIER specialists with the specifics of the financial sector in mind and is aimed at developing a comprehensive understanding of sustainable development principles among the management team, as well as practical tools for integrating ESG approaches into corporate governance.

The training was conducted by Lyazzat Kaibaldieva, head of CAIER's ESG consulting division and a certified expert in sustainable development.

During the theoretical part, participants learned about the basic principles of sustainable development and modern approaches to implementing ESG in the activities of financial organizations. The program included an overview of international standards and guidelines, including GRI, IFRS S1/S2, and TCFD recommendations, as well as national initiatives in the field of ESG regulation. Particular attention was paid to building an effective ESG management system, the role of leadership in its development, and the practical aspects of integrating environmental and social factors into banks' strategic processes. The block concluded with an overview of independent ESG ratings used in international and national practice.

The practical part of the training was devoted to an interactive game simulating the process of identifying, assessing, and managing ESG risks in the activities of financial organizations. The exercises allowed participants to systematize the knowledge they had gained and to practice applying ESG approaches in management decisions.

The Central Asian Institute for Environmental Research would like to thank the KMF Bank team for their active participation in the training and high level of engagement. CAIER wishes them continued success in developing ESG practices and strengthening the Bank's position as a responsible participant in the financial market.
