The Central Asian Institute for Environmental Research (CAIER) carries out systematic educational work in the field of practical application of the principles of sustainable development in the work of leading Kazakhstani companies.
On June 16, within the framework of the program of support for ESG-initiatives for the business community of Central Asia, an informal meeting of the leaders of the largest companies and representatives of the financial sector was held at CAIER.
Top managers of the leading banks of Kazakhstan, heads of IFC (International Finance Corporation), representatives of the UN, associations of microfinance organizations and the Entrepreneurship Development Fund "Damu" took part in the event "ESG-regulation of financial markets in Kazakhstan".
The event was organized in partnership with KPMG, one of the world's leading companies providing audit, tax and consulting services.
The invited speaker was Madina Abylkasymova, Chairman of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of the Republic of Kazakhstan (ARDFM).
The informal meeting of experts was opened by Assel Tasmagambetova, an ecologist and founder of the CAIER.
«At the moment there is a painful and large deficit in the field of high-quality consulting, expertise and training in part of ESG. That is why our Institute, which has an independent status, extensive experience and deep expertise in the field of environmental consulting and ESG regularly initiates discussions and informal meetings with market participants. During these meetings, we organize training and contribute to the transformation of our economy in different formats," Tasmagambetova said.
During the event, representatives of the financial community were able to ask questions to the Chairman of the ARDFM and IFC, as well as to express their proposals on the effective implementation of ESG-strategy in the financial sector.
