On March 15 another event organized by CAIER together with the consulting and auditing company KPMG Caucasus and Central Asia (CCA) took place.
CAIER gathered top managers of leading financial, mining and production companies of Kazakhstan within the framework of the systematic development of sustainable development practice and ESG principles.
The meeting was held in the format of the ESG-Bridge strategic business game, where participants were asked to formulate a practical strategy for the development of the ESG agenda in three time prospects (short, medium, long-term) and three sections - company, industry, region.
CAIER systematically develops a responsible attitude towards sustainable development and ESG in the Central Asia region. The Institute provides consulting services in the field of ESG and obtaining ESG ratings.
To increase awareness of the principles of sustainable development and deepen awareness of the business community of Kazakhstan about the best world practices in the field of building ESG strategies, CAIER launched a series of training events and workshops in 2022.

In the view of a global trend on a responsible attitude to the nature and resources, formation of respect for people, ethics and transparency of business, those companies which ignore these important issues take a risk of reducing an investor base and attracting more expensive financing. Moreover, ESG aspects are an integral part of all business processes of the company - interaction with employees, clients, contractors and, in addition, directly connect the tasks of business and the state", said Aselle Tasmagambetova, Ecologist, Founder of CAIER.

As part of the event, participants received advices from leading experts from KPMG CCA and CAIER on various aspects of the ESG agenda formation.
The first meeting of ESG experts on the platform of the Institute took place in November, 2022 within which Madina Abylkassymova, Chairwoman of the Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market, reminded business community that 2023 will be devoted to the training events in the field of ESG and that since 2024 the ESG risks will be included in annual process of stress testing of the banking sector.
