CAIER Experts Explore Green Concrete Technologies in China

Staff from the Central Asian Institute for Environmental Research (CAIER) visited the People’s Republic of China, where they familiarised themselves with modern green concrete production technologies and the prospects for using industrial waste in environmentally friendly building materials.

As part of the working trip, the institute’s specialists visited the cities of Shanghai and Changzhou, held talks with Chinese experts, and studied production processes and completed infrastructure projects utilising green concrete technologies.

One of the key items on the agenda was a visit to the Changzhou National High-Tech Zone. Here, CAIER representatives were introduced to the ESG approaches applied in the region’s industrial development, and also presented the institute’s activities and the Caspian Seal Research and Rehabilitation Centre project.

Particular attention was paid to a visit to Jiuding Lüyin Technology Co., Ltd., a company specialising in the development of innovative eco-friendly building materials. Chinese experts demonstrated samples of porous concrete and solutions for urban greening, where vegetation thrives directly on concrete structures.

During the working consultations, the parties discussed green concrete production technologies, issues of material durability and strength, the use of industrial waste in construction, the selection of concrete mix components to support plant growth, as well as the prospects for scientific
